Christmas Comes Early

Christmas came early this year for one Shreveport family. December 19th dawned with mist in the air, gray clouds overhead and a cool breeze blowing in the wind, but the cloudy, cool day could not dim the rays of hope and thankfulness that flowed from the Habitat house on Gold Leaf Circle in Shreveport.

After 16 months of trials and challenges the house on Gold Leaf Circle in Shreveport is finally completed. Through the combined efforts of the Home Builders Association, Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Louisiana, B&C Air Conditioning and Heating, and community involvement the house built for Antonio and Lakisha Taylor is now a reality.

On December 19th Habitat for Humanity dedicated the house located on Gold Leaf Circle to the Taylors, who were moved to tears when presented with the keys to their new home.

"What better way to celebrate the Christmas season than to provide a home for a family in need. I can think of nothing better." said Kristen Johnson, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Louisiana. The house was blessed by Pastor, Dr, R. Timothy Jones.

Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Louisiana appreciates all the volunteers and sponsors who gave their time and money to make the Taylor's dream of homeownership a reality. Best Wishes to all this Christmas season.
