For many hard-working Americans, the fruit of their labor is substandard housing. It's Habitat for Humanity's goal to help these people. Habitat works with its community partners to develop adequate, low-cost, no-interest housing for people in need across Northwest Louisiana.

Individuals, religious organizations and corporations support Habitat's mission through donations. These tax-deductible donations of money, land and materials make Habitat's work possible.

Working with Habitat means everyone wins: the families who are able to build and purchase a Habitat home clearly benefit, but so does your family or business. All gifts of cash, assets or materials are fully tax-deductible. Beyond this benefit is the satisfaction of knowing your generosity makes a genuine difference right here in your community.

Habitat takes great pride in building simple, decent, affordable housing. Through your support, decent shelter becomes a reality one nail, one board, one house and one family at a time.

The following is a list of what a typical donation to Habitat is used for:

$5000 buys central heat and air installed.

$3000 buys the foundation for the new house to be built on

$1,500 buys trusses, dirt work, cabinets, siding

Cars for Homes

There are families in northwest Louisiana who are living in substandard conditions and simply need a hand up, not a hand out.

Habitat for Humanity is providing that hand up and you can help! Habitat's Cars for Homes program uses your vehicle donation to help build decent, affordable homes in partnership with low income families.

It is easy to donate and your car donation may be eligible for a tax deduction (consult the IRS or your tax advisor for details). Cars for Homes accepts cars, trucks, boats, RV's and other vehicles with proper title and proof of ownership information.
